On Saturday 29th October 20 volunteers gathered for our very first repair cafe. We made it friends and family only so that it was an opportunity to practice and not worry if we made mistakes. We invited the mayor Councillor Diana Patrick who officially launched the event and took time to talk to all the volunteers. Our other special visitors included Marilyn Skennerton from Hayling Lions club . They provided us with start up funding and support with our website. Hampshire County Councillor Lance Quantrill also paid us a visit. The Councillor helped with funding from the County Councillor grant fund. Havant Rotary Club also helped us with start up funding but couldn’t attend on the day.
